We would like to take this opportunity to introduce HUGs from Cara, Inc.
We are a non-profit 501(C)(3)
Helping children and families in our community to understand and grieve in a safe, understanding environment.
Cara Zentner was an Auburn resident whose life was cut short on January 29, 2011 due to a tragic accident in her home. She was 36 years old, she left behind 2 young children, and a family that loves and misses her more than words can say. Although Cara’s death has left an emptiness inside that can never be filled, HUGs from Cara will keep her memory alive, help our family and other families that are grieving and, in some small way, give some purpose to Cara’s death. This tragedy has opened our eyes to a great need for such services in this area. We are hoping that we can use what Cara’s death has taught us to help anyone that is affected by grief, cope with their loss.
To provide a place for grieving children, families and friends to find comfort and support. We provide peer services such as support groups and family events as well as offer resource information and referrals for assistance through other agencies as needed. Through educating others we promote children’s grief awareness so that no child or individual ever feels alone in their grief.
With your help we can offer education and support to our community. Please pass this information on to anyone you know who may be grieving. “Like” our Facebook page, HUGs from Cara, for timely updates on events, services and meetings being offered. Please feel free to contact us by email with any questions you may have.
Thank you in advance for helping us share our information with the community!
