Children’s Grief Awareness Day
1 out of 20 children will have a parent die and 1 out of 7 will have someone close to them die before they are out of High School. Although it may not always show, those children will feel the loss forever.
Part of our goal at HUGs is to raise awareness for children that have had someone close to them die. We will do this by participating in Children’s Grief Awareness Day on November 15, 2018. Holidays are tough for grieving people and children are no different, the Thursday before Thanksgiving has been recognized as Children’s Grief Awareness Day in New York State.
There are lots of things you can do to take part in Children’s Grief Awareness Day, but one of the easiest things to do is to wear blue on November 15th, and let people know why you are doing that.
Please help raise awareness and show grieving children that they are not alone by sharing HOPE THE BUTTERFLY. A link to a PDF image of HOPE can be found below.
